The 2010 Cascade Cup proved to be a great success for both the Rhino Rose and Rosebuds!! Both teams played 5 games in two days and charged through the competition!!! They showed their stuff the entire weekend and turned a number of heads!! All players played with heart, determination, and pride for the blue and orange! Neither team gave up and it showed on the scoreboard! The Rose finished the tournament with silver while the Rosebuds took home the GOLD!

After many tiring, hot training days the Rose arrived in Snohomish ready to dominate. The Rose started off the weekend with a huge win over Puget Sound Select, 12-10!! It was a great victory for the team and they continued to win for the rest of the day beating Snohomish and Seattle! The three wins were a full team effort with goals from many different players and big saves from both goalies! Center draw control, solid D and speedy transitions allowed the Rose to come out on top all day! The three wins on Saturday sent the squad to the Semi finals on Sunday!

The Semi-Final game started off rocky but in the second half the team came alive! They excelled all over the field and went on a scoring spree, blowing Snohomish off the field! Another full team effort sent the team to the Championship game!!!

The final game started off strong, emotions were high and both teams were out to win! PSS got the first goal and continued to find the back of the net. The Rose took some hard hits and finally netted one, but found themselves in a deep hole. The whole team battled back and worked hard to maintain possession. They were unable to erase the goal deficit and fell short in the final game and took 2nd in the the tournament.

The Rosebuds showed up and played hard the entire weekend! They went 5-0! They were unstoppable to the net and shut down teams as they attempted to drive to cage! The whole squad showed incredible power on the field.

The weather was perfect, the fields were green and the lacrosse was awesome!! The Rhino Rose showed up to the 2010 Sand Storm tournament to play. They brought their very best game and showed their stuff in California.

All 18 players took part in the 2 win and 2 loss record for the weekend. The competition was tough but the Rose team showed no fear. They played aggressive and never backed down. The Rose team was a mix of player from all over Oregon and a Washington member! They all played with a mix of intensity and urgency for all 4 games!!

Each member of the team shined on the great Empire Polo fields. Goalie Mica Sandoval was solid in the net for the Rose. She was a wall and came up with huge saves and led the attack from the back. She shut down players even when the save seemed impossible.

The defense held strong through all attacking attempts by opposing teams. Carson Whitehill, Zoe Potts, Shelby Anderson, Kat Carnevale, Marina Sandoval, and Megan Anderson worked as a well oiled defensive machine. They shut down opposing teams and came up strong with dropped balls in the 8.

The attack was led by Lauren Pederson, Brooke Painter, Sloane Barton, and Maragret Gleasman. They were strong with their shots and kept their cool in the settled attack!

Ceara Leo and Dayna Kim were all over the field for the Rose. They helped the D stay solid, helped lead the transition, and also found the back of the net.

Midfield was very strong for the Rose. They moved the ball down the field, scored goals, and slowed the opposition’s drive!! Sarah Seals, Alida Beck, Geala Dennison-Leonard, and Emily Sauter forced midfield turnovers and were stellar with the transition. Meghan Jordan was solid in the center, dominating the draw!!.

Alida Beck and Dayna Kim were named to all tournament team!!!

The Rhino Rose team came together, stayed together, and were successful together!!!!
