Q: Who is your biggest lacrosse mentor?
A: I started out playing guys lax in 8th grade, and a lot of that style of play has transitioned into my game now. I would have to say I learned the most from those 30 tykes on my Middle School team.
Q: What comes to mind when you think Ryan Powell and Rhino Lacrosse?
A: Ryan Powell is an incredible presence in the lacrosse world, and the fact that Rhino was started in Oregon, where lax is growing exponentially is a huge step in opening the eyes of the lacrosse world, and focusing them on the incredible athletes the Northwest has to offer.
Q: Can you tell us what you currently do with yourself?
A: The past year I worked with the US Headquarters of adidas as a conceptual designer. I am also the assistant varsity coach for Lincoln High School. Any chance I get I am running, biking, telemarking, and generally adventuring.
Q:If you had to come up with a goal for you and your lacrosse career, what would it be?
A: To coach lacrosse worldwide, especially in developing nations, using it as a tool to break down social and economic barriers.
Q: What is the best goal that you have ever scored or ever seen?
A: There is one particularly that sticks in my mind. Last game of regular season senior year at Bowdoin we were tied 10-10 with Williams with about 2 minutes left in the game. The winner would go on to post season, the loser would not. I had been playing defensive d-wing the whole game, and was called up to a-wing for the last few minutes. First play in I stalled, rolled off a pick, and put a no-look leftie quick stick just past the keeper’s head into the upper right v for the win. I don’t think I will ever forget that one.
